AC Milan will not look outside to
replace the executives it sacked in a major overhaul following
last year's disappointing campaign but will promote managers
from within the club, sources said on Monday.
CEO Giorgio Furlani, Sporting Director Igli Tare, and Technical
Director Geoffrey Moncada all left the club as part of the
revamp, with former Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United boss
Ruben Amorim taking over as coach from the sacked Massimiliano
Allegri, who has landed the Napoli job.
The sources said American businessman Gerry Cardinale, whose
RedBird investment company owns the seven-time European
champions, will have a more central role and Amorim will have a
bigger say than his predecessor on transfers.
