MANILA, Philippines — The camp of fugitive Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa turned over six more of his firearms to the police in Cavite on Monday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.
“The turnover was facilitated by personnel of the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) and the Regional Civil Security Unit 4A in coordination with the local police,” the national police force detailed in a statement.
“The firearms were received from the Senator’s legal representative at his residence in Silang, Cavite, for temporary safekeeping, following established procedures,” it added without providing further details.

The move came amid the PNP and the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) efforts to arrest Dela Rosa through an International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant alleging his participation in former President Rodrigo Duterte’s bloody war on drugs.
Dela Rosa was last seen leaving the Senate last May 14 with Sen. Robin Padilla, who claimed the former merely hitched a ride on his vehicle, alighted in Makati City, and did not say where he was going next. /cb
