
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Preparations are in full swing for the Mayor Kirk Asis Open Invitational Basketball Tournament, with organizers holding an inter-agency coordination meeting to ensure the smooth staging of the four-day inter-collegiate competition earlier this week.
The tournament will run from June 26 to 29, 2026, at the Lope Asis Memorial Gymnasium in the City of Bayugan, Agusan del Sur.
The inter-agency coordination meeting gathered the stakeholders, various government agencies, emergency response units, security agencies, and the tournament organizer to ensure the smooth staging of the tournament.

Top NCAA, UAAP teams in play
Featuring some of the country’s top collegiate programs from the NCAA and UAAP, the event also includes guest team CM Farm, which will compete in select matchups against the field.
Opening day action on June 26 will feature an exhibition game between the LGU and Coaches selection at 5 p.m., followed by a marquee double-header with La Salle Green Archers-Wengburs Apartelle facing Adamson Falcons-Vincare Pharma at 7 p.m. and CM Farm-Bustamante Construction & Arianos Construction battling San Beda-Mair Construction & Marrea Estates Corporation at 8 p.m.
A packed schedule follows on June 27, highlighted by La Salle vs San Beda at 2 p.m. and CM Farm vs Adamson at 7 p.m. The day will also see Letran Knights – K-Prime Construction taking on Adamson at 10 a.m. and La Salle clashing with Letran at 8:30 p.m., along with another LGU vs Coaches exhibition at 4 p.m.

On June 28, San Beda meets Adamson at 10 a.m., while CM Farm takes on Letran at 2 p.m. The action continues with Letran vs San Beda at 7 p.m. and CM Farm vs La Salle at 8:30 p.m., plus another exhibition game at 4 p.m.
The final day on June 29 will feature the battle for third place at 2 p.m. followed by the championship game at 4 p.m.
The champion team will take home ₱300,000, while the runners-up get ₱200,000. The third placer will receive ₱150,000. The fourth and fifth placers will walk away with ₱100,000 and ₱75,000, respectively.
