Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick’s Son James Broderick Shows Off Fitness Transformation
And just like that Sarah Jessica Parker’s twins are nearly adults.
The Sex and the City alum—who shares son James, 23, as well as 17-year-old twins Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta with husband Matthew Broderick—honored her daughters’ birthday with a tender tribute accompanied by never-before-seen family photos.
“June 22, 2009. Today you are 17,” Parker wrote on Instagram June 22 alongside throwback photos of her little girls. “And wise. And good. And happy. And beautifully finding your way. And funny. And devoted friend. And beloved daughters.”
“Happy birthday dearest Loretta and Tabitha,” she added. “With admiration and every ounce of my love. XXX, Mama.”
In the post’s first throwback photo, the twins can be seen enjoying a pool day as they lounge on pink and gold floaties. Meanwhile, a separate photo proved they're New Yorkers like their famous mom as the then-little girls enjoyed an ice cream cone while sitting on a stoop.
And Parker couldn’t properly wish her daughters a happy birthday without including a picture of herself with them. In the photo dump’s final slide, the Hocus Pocus actress posed between her daughters as one of them held onto none other than Carrie Bradshaw’s favorite accessory: a shoe.
But the girls’ 17th birthday isn’t the only milestone in SJP’s family as of late. After all, her son James recently shared a look at his fitness journey as he stepped out in New York June 3 wearing a cut-off T-shirt and athletic shorts.
And just days prior, James showed off his newly ripped physique in a slew of photographs shared to Instagram, which Parker of course took time to sing her eldest’s praises on.
“Ah handsome,” Parker commented. “And happy. Xxx, mama.”
But no matter what milestone comes next for her three kids, the 61-year-old just wants them to dance to the beat of their own drum.
“I really want my children to be educated in the ways that are fulfilling to them,” she told E! News in May 2025. “I don’t think that there is one way to be an educated person or to be equipped to be an adult and try to fashion a life for yourself after what would be considered ‘finishing college’—let’s say 22 years old.”

And no matter what they choose, Parker and Broderick will be cheering them on every step of the way
“You want for them to be pursuing things that are exciting and challenging and hard and gratifying and to be able to ultimately take care of themselves, support themselves—emotionally, financially,” she explained, “and that they can be in the world and be a reliable person to themselves and to other people. And so we talk about work like that.”
