A 38-year-old woman who was given a

life sentence by a Milan court in May 2024 for the homicide of

her 18-month-old daughter, who died after being abandoned by her

for six days in July 2022, on Thursday saw an appeals court

revised term of 24 years definitively upheld.

The lawyer of Alessia Pifferi again unsuccessfully argued that

the woman should have been acquitted as she suffers learning

disabilities, has been the victim of abuse and did not intend to

kill the girl, whose name was Diana.
