Millie Bobby Brown Reveals the Part of Motherhood No One Prepared Her For
Millie Bobby Brown is cranking this friendship up to 11.
Though fans watched the Stranger Things alum forge strong friendships with her costars on the Netflix series over the last decade, they’re not the only stars she counts among her nearest and dearest, with her recently detailing her bond with Tom Cruise.
"He's a dear friend," Brown told Josh Horowitz at the June 24 live recording of his Happy Sad Confused podcast at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, according to People. "He's a wonderful man and I'm very lucky to call him my friend."
Though, don’t expect to see her suiting up to jump out of a plane or climb the Burj Khalifa alongside him—despite her quests to do her own stunts.
"Tom does the craziest stuff,” the 22-year-old admitted. “I think he's trying to get me to somehow fly a plane at some point.”
Still, she has joined him in the air and has even “flown his helicopter before,” although that’s an experience Brown doesn’t anticipate having more of.
As she put it, "I was like, 'This is the last time I ever fly any of his equipment.’”
But despite putting her foot down on some high-flying adventures, the Enola Holmes actress detailed what it means for her to be able to do so many stunts herself, highlighting the aspects of Hollywood that have made it safer for actors to give it a go.

"I really want young girls to think they can, you know? You'll always hear an older actor say, 'Don't do your own stunts,' and I get that,” Brown explained. “But back in the day, they might have been throwing you against a wall. And now, if you get a really great stunt coordinator and you learn how to land and you learn the whole technique of it, we as actors should know how to do certain things.”
At this point, Brown—mom to a baby girl with husband Jake Bongiovi—joked that she tries “to do 90 percent” of her own stunts, although the final 10 percent is “in my contract that I'm not allowed, even though I beg."

And though they now count themselves as good friends—and presumably someone whom Brown can call for stunt-related advice—the Damsel star likened herself to Cruise before, while admitting she was sometimes shocked the crew actually lets her take part in the action.
"You're just like, ‘Am I really gonna do that stunt?'” Brown recalled on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2024. “And then that day they're like, ‘Yep, put the harness on,’” she said. “And I just did the stunt as if it wasn't Tom Cruise–level stuff. I felt like Tom Cruise."
