New Zealand has sent condolences to those who have lost loved ones and livelihoods in the earthquakes in Venezuela.
More than 1700 people have been killed with thousands injured, after Venezuela was hit by deadly twin earthquakes.
Foreign Minister Winston Peters raised the matter in Parliament ahead of Question Time on Tuesday afternoon.
"I move that this house send its condolences on behalf the New Zealand people to all those who have lost loved ones and livelihoods in Venezuela as a result of the recent earthquakes," he said.
"Note the New Zealand government's contribution to international humanitarian efforts, and note that the New Zealand government stands ready to consider any further requests for assistance from affected countries as its full impacts become clear."
The statement received unanimous support across Parliament.
