Net TV Pvt. Ltd., a leading player in Nepal’s digital entertainment industry, has received an official licence to operate an Over-the-Top (OTT) broadcasting service from the Department of Information and Broadcasting under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
Net TV Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Niran Rajbhandari described the acquisition of the official OTT licence as a historic milestone for the company. He expressed confidence that the achievement would contribute to the further growth and professional development of Nepal’s digital entertainment sector.
Launched in 2017, Net TV says it was Nepal’s first IPTV service provider and has played a pioneering role in the country’s video streaming and digital content industry.
With the government licence now in place, the company said it can officially provide 24-hour OTT broadcasting services across Nepal through its mobile application and website. Net TV will broadcast licensed Nepali, English, and Hindi television channels, authorised international programmes, and a wide range of digital content.
According to the company, the platform offers more than 1,000 movies, blockbuster films, television series, domestic and international dramas, live sports, live TV, and various television channels. Users can access the content at their convenience through mobile phones, tablets, or smart TVs
Operating under the slogan “One Subscription, Unlimited Entertainment,” Net TV said the continued trust and support of its customers, partners, and well-wishers have encouraged the company to enhance the quality of its services further.
Headquartered in Kusunti, Lalitpur, Net TV Pvt. Ltd. said it remains committed to expanding its services to provide Nepali audiences with a new digital entertainment experience.
