
COTABATO CITY — Police and military personnel arrested two suspected gunrunners and confiscated from them three firearms, including two high-powered guns, during an entrapment operation in Barangay Cabingan, Marawi City on Monday, the police said.
Brig. Gen. Christopher Abecia, Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) director, identified the suspects as Jubidi Andul Jalil, 33, of Binidayan, Lanao del Sur, and Norsally Barat, 35, of Marawi City.
The two were arrested at 2 p.m. after allegedly selling the firearms to a police poseur-buyer who used marked money worth P300,000.

Abecia said recovered from the suspects were two Elisco caliber 5.56 rifles, one Pietro Beretta 9mm pistol with “PNP property” markings, the buy-bust money, packaging materials, and one black Toyota Hilux.
“This successful entrapment operation reflects our firm commitment to enforcing the law and preventing loose firearms from falling into the hands of criminals and other threat groups,” Abecia said in a statement. /das
