
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday urged members of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) to remain faithful to their constitutional duty to protect the Filipino people and defend the country’s democratic institutions.
Speaking during the PAF’s 79th Founding Anniversary celebration, Marcos reminded air force personnel to consistently observe safety protocols in both missions and training activities, stressing that their well-being is just as important as the duties they perform.

“As your Commander-in-Chief, I encourage you to continue upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and integrity,” he said at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

“Above all, remain faithful to your constitutional duty to protect our people and defend the democratic institutions that safeguard our freedoms,” Marcos added.
The President assured PAF personnel that the administration remains committed to providing them with the resources, opportunities, and support they need to carry out their mission.
Marcos likewise recognized the Air Force’s contributions not only to safeguarding the country’s airspace but also to disaster response and humanitarian operations.
“Whether providing humanitarian assistance after devastating typhoons or safeguarding our territorial integrity, the Air Force has shown time and again that it is an indispensable partner in nation-building,” he said.

In 2025, Marcos noted that the PAF logged 49,896 flying hours across internal and external defense missions, military pilot training, unit training, and maintenance.
“You transported millions of pounds of cargo and tens of thousands of passengers in response to and in support of disaster response, troop deployments, and inter-island operations,” he said.

“You have reinforced our territorial defense through sustained patrols and air surveillance operations, strengthening our maritime domain awareness and sovereignty protection,” Marcos also said.
During the program, Marcos conferred awards on outstanding PAF units and personnel in recognition of their exceptional performance, operational excellence, and dedication to national service. /mr
