Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto outlined six key messages to all ranks of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), including maintaining public trust and mastering artificial intelligence (AI).
In his message delivered at the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration at the Brimob Training Unit (Satlat) in Cikeas, Bogor, on Wednesday, Prabowo stressed that public trust is the police's most valuable asset and must be maintained.
"First, maintain the people's trust. Because trust is a police officer's strongest weapon," the president remarked.
He also urged all Polri personnel to remain close to the community and deliver the highest standard of service, emphasizing that the police should protect and serve the public rather than create difficulties.
He reminded that all facilities and income of state officials come from the people and must be accounted for through sincere service.
The president also emphasized the importance of just law enforcement, where he reminded Polri members to be brave in defending the truth and protect vulnerable groups without fear of pressure from any party.
"Never be afraid of anyone. We only fear God Almighty," Prabowo pointed out.
Furthermore, the head of state encouraged Polri personnel to improve their professionalism by mastering science, technology, and artificial intelligence (AI).
According to him, the challenges of modern crime can only be addressed by officers who continuously develop their knowledge and possess superior capabilities.
In addition, Prabowo drew attention to the importance of strengthening synergy with various elements of the nation.
He noted that the police cannot work alone but must collaborate with the Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI), the government, community leaders, religious leaders, and all Indonesian people.
In closing, Prabowo urged the police to continuously pursue internal improvements by remaining humble and open to change.
"Never stop improving yourself. Do not be arrogant. The more you grow, the more you bow down. Humility does not mean inferiority; in fact, those who are strong are more humble and behave better," he conveyed.
He then expressed his appreciation for the Polri in their continued organizational improvements, increasing professionalism, discipline, public service, and strengthening synergy with all elements of the nation.
