HERMOSA, Bataan -Two boys, aged 8 and 12, drowned in the Gasak River Dam in Barangay Culis, Hermosa town on Tuesday afternoon.

Report from Bataan police said the two boys were with another boy swimming in the swollen river when the two ventured into a deep portion and failed to get out.

Police did not say if the victims knew how to swim, but their parents reportedly were not aware their sons went to swimming about 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Rescuers from the local police and Metro Bataan Development Authority came to rescue the two boys and tried to revive them but to no avail.

The victims were taken to nearby Orani Emergency Hospital where they were declared dead on arrival, police said./coa
