Conservative pundit Megyn Kelly took a shot at President Trump’s family for what she characterized as benefiting personally from his presidency.
“I don’t feel great about our leaders. I’m not going to lie,” Kelly said on an episode of her podcast and YouTube show this week. “I’m like, I’m disappointed with some aspects of the Trump presidency for sure, like the Iran war. That’s No. 1. It’s so grifty. I’m not going to lie. It’s grifty.”
The former Fox News and “Today” show host then turned her criticism on the president’s sons.
“You know, the Trump family is grifty. There’s been, like, story after story about all the money that his sons are making off of the government,” she said. “These government contracts, they’re getting — all that, I can’t stand that stuff.”
Kelly conceded she “loves his sons, OK, so I say this as a true fan of theirs, but I didn’t like it when Hunter Biden was doing it, and I don’t like it when the Trump’s are doing it.”
Kelly, who has been historically supportive of the president, has broken with him in recent months, most notably on the U.S. war with Iran.
She blasted him after he threatened to “wipe out an entire civilization” with attacks on Iran earlier this year and recently cast doubt on the president’s base of support saying, “MAGA is not what it was. MAGA is now this very, very small group of Trump diehard loyalists.”
Iran and the U.S. are now in a ceasefire as the Trump administration seeks a deal with Tehran that would curb its ability to obtain a nuclear weapon.
