Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung received the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) certificate for the largest simultaneous eco-enzyme production event by number of participants during the Jakarta Eco Future Festival (JEFF) 2026.
"Consistency and collaboration are the keys. If all elements of society continue to work together, I am optimistic that waste management in Jakarta will continue to improve and deliver tangible benefits for the environment," Anung said at Jakarta City Hall on Friday.
According to him, JEFF 2026 serves as a momentum to strengthen public awareness of environmental protection.
He stressed that efforts to transform Jakarta into a global city must go hand in hand with behavioral changes that encourage people to care more about cleanliness and environmental sustainability.
"Major changes begin with simple habits practiced consistently. Therefore, I invite all Jakarta residents to make waste sorting a new culture in building a cleaner and more sustainable city," he said.
Ahead of Jakarta's 500th anniversary in 2027, he affirmed that the Jakarta provincial government will continue to strengthen environmental management programs through cross-sector collaboration.
He expressed optimism that active public participation would serve as an important foundation for realizing Jakarta as a clean, healthy, resilient, and sustainable global city.
"Let's make environmental awareness a common culture. What we do today will become the best legacy for future generations of Jakarta," he said.
JEFF 2026 is being held on July 3-4 at Jakarta City Hall. The festival features discussion forums, talk shows, workshops, impact talks, a volunteer corner, and the JEFF 2026 Awards.
The festival brought together the government, businesses, communities, and the public to discuss issues ranging from waste management and air quality to the circular economy and sustainable lifestyles.
Eco-enzyme is a liquid produced through the fermentation of organic waste and is used for various environmental cleaning purposes.
