BBC Studios and Penguin Random House are building on their existing publishing partnership with a first Bluey audiobook collection: Bluey: The Beach and Other Stories.
The audiobook will feature eight stories narrated by Australian actress Miranda Tapsell (Sapphires), who voices Dougie’s mum in the uber popular kids franchise.
The collection, which is due to publish globally on September 1st, 2026, includes Baby Race, Barky Boats, The Beach, Charades, Daddy Robot, Magic Xylophone, The Pool and Typewriter.
BBC Studios and Penguin Random House renewed their book publishing deal for Bluey in late 2024. The franchise is one of the biggest on TV. The show is produced by Ludo Studio for ABC Kids (Australia) and co-commissioned by ABC Children’s and BBC Studios Kids & Family.
Jan Paterson, Director of Books and Audio Publishing at BBC Studios, said: “With Bluey continuing to be one of the top performing children’s publishing brands, it’s exciting to see that audience appetite extend into audiobooks. The strength of engagement we’re seeing from families makes this a natural next step, giving listeners a new way to connect with Bluey with stories and characters that they already know and love.”
Rianna Mezzullo, Publisher, Penguin Random House Children’s Licensing, added: “We’ve built a rich and varied Bluey publishing list that plays a meaningful role in everyday family life, and this new audio collection marks an exciting next chapter. By bringing these much-loved picture books into an audio format, we are expanding how Bluey stories can be experienced by young readers, while also highlighting the important role audio plays in sharing stories. In this National Year of Reading, it’s more important than ever to meet children where they are: through the stories and brands they already love. Shared listening offers a powerful way for children, families and early years settings to connect, bringing stories to life and creating joyful, collective reading experiences.”
