Singer Nina said she has no plans to release a “Nina Live 2.0” album as she wants to preserve the legacy of her iconic live record while expressing gratitude to longtime fans who have introduced her music to a new generation.
The Asia’s Diamond Soul Siren shared her thoughts during a press conference on Monday, July 6, at 22 Prime in Ortigas for “NINA XX The Anniversary Concert – The Repeat,” which will be held on Sept. 24 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.
Asked about the continued popularity of her music among younger listeners, Nina credited fans of her landmark “Nina Live!” album, and who are now parents to introduced her music to their children.

“Well, I have to thank the parents talaga. Yung parents na talaga naging fan of Nina Live. Single pa sila nung nag-Nina Live. Ngayon, may mga anak na sila. So, parang shinare nila ’yung music ko with their children,” she said.

Nina shared that she often meets younger fans who tell her they discovered her songs through their parents.
“Talagang sinasabi sa akin, ‘Uy, favorite ka po ng mommy ko dati.’ Hindi ako na-offend actually about that. Sinasabi ko lang, ‘Pakisabi sa mommy mo, thank you so much for sharing my music with you.’ Kasi, new generation to. But they still love my music and they still know my music. So, nakakatuwa,” she added.
Despite persistent calls from fans for a sequel to her best-selling live album, the OPM singer said she has no intention of creating a “Nina Live 2.0.”

“Actually, I already said this before kasi maraming na talagang naghahanap ng Nina Live 2.0. But, I believe na yung Nina Live kasi parang very historic na siya and very iconic na siya. So, I don’t want to replicate Nina Live,” she explained.
The seasoned singer noted that the album remains an important part of her identity as a performer and does not need to be revisited in the same format.

“I don’t want to close that chapter because Nina Live is me. I love to sing live in front of people. If I’m going to do another chapter, Nina Live is still going to be there, but I’m going to open a new chapter by doing a new song or an album. But, the Nina Live album, I’m not closing. It’s still there,” she said.
Nina also reflected on how she has evolved as a performer over the years, saying the biggest change has been gaining confidence on stage.
“Siguro, ang nagbago lang is nagkaroon ako ng more confidence to stay in front of the people and to be relaxed. Kasi mahiyaan talaga akong klaseng tao,” she said.
She added that despite her experience, she still feels the same nervousness before every performance.
“Everything else, like hindi naman nagbago ’yung kaba. Nandun pa rin yung kaba mo. Hindi naman nagbago ’yung mga routines before a concert or a show,” she said.
Following the success of her 20th anniversary concert last May, Nina is staging a repeat performance that promises a refreshed experience instead of a replica of the original show.
Concert director Calvin Neria said around 80% of the repertoire has been revised after listening to audience feedback, including the addition of classic songs from the 10-time Platinum self-titled album that were not performed in the first anniversary concert.
“As a director, I listen to feedback and read comments online. Si Nina rin, sabi niya maglagay pa tayo ng more Nina Live songs that we missed and ‘yung hinahanap ng mga fans. So that’s what we’re doing in the repeat,” Neria said.
He added that the show’s flow has been significantly reworked, making it “parang ibang show na siya.”
