
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said on Tuesday that closer cooperation between Indonesia and India, two of the world's two largest democracies, will contribute positively to regional stability, global peace, and shared prosperity.
“We are two of the world's largest democracies. India is now the world's most populous country, while Indonesia ranks fourth. Therefore, cooperation between our two nations will undoubtedly bring benefits to the region,” President Prabowo said at the Merdeka Palace.
Welcoming Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a bilateral visit, President Prabowo expressed confidence that the visit would strengthen the longstanding friendship between the two countries and deepen mutual trust.
He emphasized his hope that the two countries' strategic partnership would be translated into concrete initiatives that deliver tangible and reciprocal benefits for the people of both countries.
Prabowo also called on India to continue working closely with Indonesia to build an even stronger foundation for the bilateral partnership in the years ahead.
“Let us continue moving forward together to strengthen our partnership for a more prosperous future for the people of Indonesia and India,” Prabowo said.
