Mormon Wives Cast Reacts to Layla Taylor Coming Out as Bisexual
Layla Taylor is one step closer to going public with her new girlfriend.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star seemingly soft launched her budding relationship on social media nearly a week after coming out as bisexual.
In a July 7 Instagram video, Layla holds the hand of the mystery woman, who is not in the frame beyond her tattooed forearm and hand. The 25-year-old—dressed in cheetah print pants and a white tank top—flashed a giant smile as a caption over the clip read, "'You’re glowing recently' thanks I’m dating a woman now."
Layla—who shares two kids with ex-husband Clayton Wessell—added in the caption, "Chivalry isn’t dead it’s w the lesbians."
And while the MomTok star isn't quite ready to reveal her girlfriend's identity to fans, she's certainly got the look of love back following her breakup from costar Mason McWhorter earlier this year.
As for why Layla felt like now was the right time to open up publicly about her sexuality?
"It’s just something that I honestly didn’t really know how to formally address for a long period of my life," Layla shared on the June 29 episode of the On Purpose With Jay Shetty podcast. "I’m gay and I’m bi and date women and men."
Growing up in a religious Utah household, Layla admitted she "didn't fit in for a lot of reasons" as a child, but later realized she was attracted to both men and women.
"I always had these thoughts and I kind of laugh about it now," she continued, "because I would be watching shows like Pretty Little Liars and I would watch, like, Shay Mitchell kissing a girl. I was like, ‘Wait, why is that hot?'"
The reality star even hid her bisexuality from her Hulu costars.
"I feel like me coming out, it’s not really a text," the influencer admitted. "I feel like I want to see them in person to let them know. So they might see this before and then I’ll talk to them in person the next time I see them. But yeah, for right now, no one from the group knows."

But today, Layla is finally ready to live authentically in the public eye.
"I just feel like I’m finally in the era that I’m over not being truly myself," she shared, "and I’m over not showing every part of Layla to the world. I’m very proud now to be out."
