The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidates in Rivers and Jigawa States as well as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Bauchi State have picked their running mates.
The party in Jigawa State named veteran politician, Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, as its deputy governorship candidate. He is to pair with the governorship candidate in the state, Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu.
Ringim formally accepted the nomination at a ceremony held at his residence in Ringim on Sunday, July 5, 2026, following consultations among party leaders and stakeholders over the composition of the governorship ticket.
The ADC governorship candidate in Rivers State Gabriel Baritulem Pidomson has chosen David Amapakaye Okumgba as his running mate in the 2027 elections.
Chairman of ADC in Rivers State, Dr. Chukwudi Dimgba, who disclosed the decision of the party’s stakeholders to newsmen in a statement in Port Harcourt, the state on Tuesday, said the decision followed weeks of waiting and negotiations from the party leaders.
In the same vein, former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi Local Government Area, Abdulkadir Alin Bababa, has been unveiled as the running mate to Usman Adamu Suphi the gubernatorial candidate of the party in Bauchi State.
Suphi said the choice of Abdulkadir Alin Bababa was informed by the need to ensure a formidable team at the Government House come May 29th 2027.
