Algarve residents, workers and visitors are being invited to help shape the future of transport in the region as part of a new mobility strategy being developed by the Algarve Intermunicipal Community (AMAL).
The organisation has launched an online public survey as it prepares the Algarve Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan 2.0 (PMUS Algarve 2.0), which will set out priorities for making transport across the region more sustainable, accessible and efficient.
The plan will cover the entire Algarve and aims to improve public transport, road safety and accessibility while encouraging greater use of sustainable forms of travel. It also seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, traffic noise and energy consumption in line with national and European climate goals.
AMAL says public participation will be a key part of the process, with residents, businesses, local authorities and other organisations invited to help identify priorities and propose solutions for the region’s future transport network.
The new strategy builds on the earlier PAMUS 2020 mobility plans and will be developed according to the latest national and European guidelines on sustainable transport.
The survey is anonymous, takes just a few minutes to complete and is available online.
