Janine Gutierrez declared her support for her mother, actress Lotlot de Leon, amid the latter’s falling-out with her sibling Ian de Leon over the management of their late mom Nora Aunor’s legacy.
Janine, the eldest daughter of Lotlot with her former husband Monching Gutierrez, was asked about her reaction to the recent public exchange between her mother and uncle, on the sidelines of the Cinemalaya 2026 media conference on Wednesday, July 8.
“Syempre gusto ko pong ibigay ‘yung suporta sa mommy ko kasi siya talaga ‘yung inspirasyon ko bilang isang ate, isang panganay. So, palagi ko lang pong pinapaalala na nandito lang ako sa likod niya,” Janine said.

Janine was also asked about the rumored reconciliation between Ian and her aunt Matet de Leon, with the younger actress saying she is not sure whether the two have indeed patched things up.
“Whatever po is best for my mom, ‘yun po talaga ‘yung ipagpe-pray ko. Gusto ko lang na maging happy siya. Ayokong magkasakit siya dahil sa stress or anything,” Janine emphasized.
“Si mama po talaga ‘yung number one na pinagdadasal ko na maging okay sa lahat, hopefully,” she added.

Janine, who stars in the Cinemalaya film “Mag-iina,” further honored her mom, saying, “Everything I do naman talaga is naka-dedicate po talaga sa nanay ko.” (I dedicate everything I do to my mom.)
The De Leon siblings previously had a heated public exchange which started after Ian—the biological son of Aunor and actor Christopher de Leon—declared in an interview that he is the “sole heir” of the late Superstar and National Artist, being their only biological child.

As sole heir, Ian founded a one-person corporation (OPC) to manage the legacy of their mother, saying his adoptive siblings—namely Lotlot, Matet, Kiko and Kenneth—were informed about this. However, Lotlot and Matet refuted this as the sisters cried foul over netizen accusations that the adoptive siblings are after what remained of Aunor’s estate.
Ian and Matet earlier hinted that they have reconnected and had already talked about their misunderstanding. It was not immediately known whether or not Lotlot was part of the conversation. /edv
