The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Dr. Biodun Collins Ogundipe, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be neutral saying his campaign would deploy technology to safeguard every vote cast for the party during the 2027 general election.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Abeokuta, Ogundipe said he was not convinced the electoral umpire would conduct a completely neutral process but insisted that his team had developed technological measures to monitor the election and prevent vote manipulation.
“I don’t believe in INEC neutrality. But I can guarantee you that any vote cast for ADC in this state, nobody will steal it. We have technological approaches that we will use to monitor the election,” he said.
The governorship hopeful also reaffirmed that he remains the ADC’s recognised governorship candidate in Ogun State despite disputes surrounding the party’s primary election.
“There was only one primary. The National Leadership of the ADC has my name with INEC. If anyone has any issue, the party has advised them to follow the appeal process or go to court,” he stated.
Beyond the electoral process, Ogundipe blamed Nigeria’s leadership challenges on the quality of leaders elected into office, arguing that governance in the 21st century requires competence, planning and technology-driven solutions rather than traditional politics.
