
MANILA, Philippines — Several areas in Mindanao were placed under yellow alert due to a forecast heavy rainfall brought by the enhanced southwest monsoon, habagat, on Friday, July 10.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued a heavy rainfall advisory in the following areas, as of 9:30 a.m.:
Lanao del Norte
Lanao del Sur
Zamboanga del Norte
Bukidnon
Sarangani
Davao Occidental

The weather bureau also forecast moderate to occasional heavy rains over the following areas within the next one to two hours:

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rainfall are being experienced in Sarangani, Bukidnon, Cotabato City, North Cotabato, Zamboanga del Norte, Davao Occidental, Sulu, Lanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Norte, which may persist within one to two hours and may affect nearby areas, according to Pagasa.
Pagasa advised the public on possible landslides and flooding that may occur in the affected areas. /das
