MANILA, Philippines — Over 2.5 tons of chicken were confiscated during a series of raids in three locations in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, resulting in the arrest of two men, according to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
In a statement on Friday, the NBI said the poultry products, which were seized last Tuesday, July 7, totaled 2,515.72 kilograms. The products were reported to have undergone processing that did not meet standards set by the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS).

The bureau said the arrested poultry operators have already been processed and undergone inquest proceedings for supposedly violating the Meat Inspection Code of the Philippines.
