
VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon — More local government units (LGUs) across Bukidnon province either suspended or extended the suspension of classes on Friday as persistent rains from the enhanced southwest monsoon, intensified by Typhoon Inday, continued to affect the province.
In Malaybalay City, Matangpatang Elementary School, Manalog Integrated School, San Roque Integrated School and Mapayag Integrated School extended the suspension of face-to-face classes due to continuous rains and weather-related hazards.

The local governments of Valencia City and Cabanglasan town also extended class suspensions, while the municipalities of Lantapan, Maramag, Pangantucan, Kadingilan, Dangcagan and Kitaotao ordered the suspension of classes at all levels as inclement weather persisted.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 1 at 8 a.m. on Friday, placing several areas in Bukidnon under Yellow Warning due to the enhanced southwest monsoon.
Pagasa said Kalilangan, Pangantucan, Valencia City, Quezon, Maramag, Kitaotao, Dangcagan, Kibawe, Kadingilan and Don Carlos may experience flooding in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous communities.
Meanwhile, Sumilao, Baungon, Libona, Manolo Fortich, Malitbog, Impasugong, Damulog, San Fernando, Cabanglasan, Lantapan, Talakag and Malaybalay City are expected to experience moderate to occasionally heavy rains.
Pagasa urged the public and local disaster risk reduction and management offices to remain vigilant, monitor official weather advisories, and prepare for possible flooding and landslides as rainfall is expected to continue throughout the day./coa
