Maltese actor Joe Azzopardi has landed the cover of Éclair Magazine, where he opens up about his journey from Shakespearean theatre to starring in Netflix’s upcoming Enola Holmes 3.
The feature traces Azzopardi’s career from training at London’s prestigious Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts to appearing in international productions including Jurassic World Dominion, The Boat, and now Enola Holmes 3, where he plays Mikiel Mizzi.
Speaking about joining the hit Netflix franchise, Azzopardi described filming in Malta as an “extremely magical and almost patriotic feeling”, saying it was exciting to see his homeland become the backdrop for almost the entire film.
He also praised co-star Millie Bobby Brown, calling her “an absolute powerhouse” full of creativity, while sharing fond memories of working alongside Helena Bonham Carter and the rest of the cast.
The magazine also explores Azzopardi’s theatre roots, his passion for outdoor adventure, and how those experiences have shaped his acting career.
The cover marks another milestone for the Maltese actor as anticipation continues to build ahead of Enola Holmes 3, which will showcase Malta on a global stage.
