Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education said it will implement the deep learning approach across all subjects by adapting it to the characteristics of each field of study.
Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti said the deep learning approach will not be introduced as a new subject but rather as a learning approach designed to make the learning process more meaningful, in-depth, and engaging for students.
"All subjects will adopt the deep learning approach in accordance with the characteristics of each subject. Its implementation will not necessarily be the same. That is why we are organizing training for teachers of all subjects," Mu'ti said here on Friday.
According to him, each subject has different characteristics, meaning the implementation of deep learning cannot be standardized.
Teachers, he said, will continue to have the flexibility to adapt teaching methods based on competencies, learning materials, and the needs of students in the classroom.
Therefore, he said this year's independent training on deep learning, coding, and artificial intelligence (PMKKA) is being conducted on a subject-based approach so that teachers can directly discuss the implementation of deep learning according to their respective fields of study.
"The training is now subject-based. Previously, all teachers gathered to learn the fundamentals of deep learning. Now, mathematics teachers will meet with Mathematics teachers, Indonesian language teachers with Indonesian language teachers," Mu'ti said.
He added that the implementation of deep learning cannot be separated from the use of technology, including coding and artificial intelligence (AI).
However, he emphasized that both serve as tools to help teachers create higher-quality learning experiences.
Through the deep learning approach and the use of coding and AI, the ministry wants to encourage teachers to make proportional use of digital technology to strengthen the learning process according to the needs of each subject.
