Maris Racal appears to be opening up her heart again after she was spotted spending time with a mystery man, prompting speculation among netizens that she may be in a new relationship.

Photos of Racal and the unidentified man circulated on X on Saturday, July 11, after a fan page remarked, “WHO’S THAT GUY, MARIS??? Namataan ang aktres na si Maris Racal kasama ang isang non-showbiz foreigner na hinihinalang boyfriend niya. Agad itong naging usap-usapan sa social media matapos kumalat ang kanilang mga larawan na magkasama.”

One of the viral photos showed Racal and the mystery man seated in what appeared to be a waiting lounge, facing each other. The man was seen from behind wearing a light-colored collared shirt with curly dark hair. Racal, meanwhile, appeared to be looking at him with a gentle smile.

Another image showed the pair standing inside what looked like public transportation, possibly a bus, with the unidentified man carrying luggage.

As of writing, Racal has not addressed the photos or confirmed the identity of the man.

The sighting came days after Racal publicly expressed happiness for her former boyfriend, OPM singer Rico Blanco, following his first acting win at the 9th Eddy Awards (The Eddys) by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) on July 5 in Pasay City.

The awards night also marked the first time the former couple appeared together in public since confirming their breakup in July 2024.

During the event, Racal won Best Actress for the coming-of-age film “Sunshine,” while Blanco shared the Best Supporting Actor award for Manila’s Finest with Will Ashley for “Bar Boys: After School.”

Asked for her reaction to Blanco’s win, Racal said she was genuinely happy for her former partner.

“I’m very happy for him. Nakakatuwa dahil matagal na niyang gusto umarte (It’s nice because he always wanted to do acting). And now he has an award for it. I am genuinely happy for him,” she said at the time.

Racal and Blanco first met in December 2018. They confirmed their relationship in May 2021. In July 2024, during the Star Magic Spotlight press conference, the actress confirmed that they have decided to go their separate ways.

At the time, Racal maintained that no third party was involved in their breakup. Months later, however, she became embroiled in controversy over her romance with actor Anthony Jennings, who was then in a long-term relationship with content creator Jamela Villanueva. /edv
