Season 3 MasterChef Malta contestant Leigh “Il-Banana” Spiteri Chircop stole the show at yesterday’s Msida Ġostra, claiming both the first and second flags during the beloved traditional event held in aid of Puttinu Cares.

A video shared by the Msida Gostra Facebook page captures the exhilarating moments as competitors raced across the greased pole in a bid to snatch the flags before plunging into the sea, with cheers erupting from the crowds as the winners sealed their victories.

Spiteri Chircop’s impressive double triumph was followed by Carlo “Maradona” Debono, who claimed the prestigious Champion Flag after another thrilling run across the slippery pole.

The annual Msida Ġostra once again brought together daring participants and packed crowds, celebrating one of Malta’s oldest traditions while raising funds for the vital work carried out by Puttinu Cares.
