Wamena, Highland Papua (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ministry of Health, through the National Teaching Hospitals Coordinator, has ensured the smooth implementation of treatment for 11 priority critical diseases at regional public hospitals (RSUD) across Highland Papua.
The National Teaching Hospitals Coordinator, Dr. Eniarti, said in a statement on Monday that the cooperation forum involving the Highland Papua Provincial Government and the administrations of its eight districts formed part of the national priority healthcare support program.
The initiative is part of the second pillar of Indonesia's health system transformation, which focuses on strengthening referral healthcare services nationwide.
"The 11 priority health services include cancer, cardiovascular diseases, stroke, uronephrology, maternal and child health (KIA), respiratory diseases and tuberculosis, emerging infectious diseases (PIE), mental health, diabetes mellitus, gastrohepatology, as well as ophthalmology. All of these services will be available at Highland Papua Regional Public Hospital," she said.
According to Eniarti, the forum served as a platform for collaboration among the central government, local governments, national and regional teaching hospitals, network hospitals, and other stakeholders to strengthen high-quality, equitable, and sustainable priority healthcare services.
"We want to provide the best possible healthcare services for all Indonesians, including those living in Highland Papua," she said.
She added that the forum also aims to strengthen cooperation in improving the capacity of healthcare personnel, enhancing service governance, reinforcing the referral system, and providing the facilities and infrastructure required to deliver priority healthcare services in the region.
"The Ministry of Health, through the Directorate General of Advanced Health Services and the Directorate of Clinical Services, which are responsible for strengthening national priority referral services, will continue to promote more effective healthcare services throughout Indonesia," she said.
