Kathmandu. The organizers of the 23rd National Technological Festival, LOCUS 2027, have announced an eight-day software fellowship aimed at equipping students with practical software development skills. The program will run from July 15 to July 23 and is designed for students with beginner to intermediate programming knowledge seeking to enter the software industry.
The fellowship will be conducted in two daily shifts to accommodate participants, with classes scheduled from 7:00–9:00 a.m. and 5:00–7:00 p.m. Organizers said an additional 2:00–4:00 p.m. shift may be introduced depending on demand.
According to the organizers, the program will focus on hands-on learning, enabling participants to build a complete software project rather than only studying theoretical concepts.
The curriculum begins with frontend development fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, followed by project management using Git and GitHub. Participants will learn backend development with FastAPI, database integration, and user authentication during the third and fourth days.
In the latter half of the fellowship, sessions will cover emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI/ML), prompt engineering, and cloud computing, culminating in the deployment of participants' projects to a public platform.
The fellowship will be facilitated by experienced students from Pulchowk Campus alongside software industry professionals, with the aim of providing participants with practical exposure to real-world software development.
On the final day, participants will undergo an assessment and receive guidance on career planning, internship opportunities, and building a professional project portfolio.
Applications are open until July 14, 2026. As seats are limited, interested students are encouraged to register through the official Google Form made available by the LOCUS organizers.
