
EXCLUSIVE: Tom Pecinka (American Rust) and Arturo Del Puerto (Pulse) join the cast of Paramount+’s Frisco King in recurring roles. The series is currently in production in Fort Worth, Texas.
The project reunites Pecinka with series lead Samuel L. Jackson, whom he starred alongside in the film The Kill Room (2023) from director Nicol Paone.
The Tulsa King spinoff is set in Frisco, TX, with Taylor Sheridan writing all eight episodes of Season 1. Plot details are currently under wraps for Frisco King; however, Jackson’s character, Russell Lee Washington Jr., was first introduced in the third season of Tulsa King,
Pecinka will play Ryland, who appears to be a seasoned, professional businessman but is, in reality, a bit of a party animal.
Del Puerto will play Hector, a smart, hard-working, ambitious landscaper working on an upscale property in Frisco, TX.
Produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, Frisco King is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, Sylvester Stallone, and Samuel L. Jackson. David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, and Keith Cox also executive produce. Long-time Sheridan collaborators Christina Alexandra Voros and Michael Friedman will direct. Both Voros and Friedman will direct multiple episodes, with Voros directing the pilot.
Pecinka received a Tony Award nomination for starring on Broadway in Stereophonic, and a Theatre World Award for his performance. In film, Pecinka has starred in The Survivalist, opposite John Malkovich. Pecinka’s TV credits include American Rust, opposite Jeff Daniels, as well as roles on NBC’s New Amsterdam and CBS’ FBI. Pecinka is represented by IAG and Untitled.
Del Puerto was most recently seen in the Netflix drama series Pulse, in the Apple TV series For All Mankind, and the Peacock comedy Killing It. Previously, Del Puerto starred in the HBO series Camping alongside Jennifer Garner, Juliette Lewis, and David Tennant. Additional series include AMC’s Fear of the Walking Dead, FX’s Better Things, TNT’s Claws, and Netflix’s Glow. On the film front, Del Puerto has starred in Independence Day: Resurgence, Ride Along and Chips. Del Puerto is represented by Innovative, Artists First, and Hansen Jacobson.
