Dog attack in central Hastings leaves one person seriously injured

One person has been seriously injured in a dog attack in central Hastings this afternoon.

Police were called to Russell Street South just after 2pm, following reports of a person being attacked by a dog.

Animal Control and emergency services responded, and a person was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the dog had been secured.
