
MANILA, Philippines — Aftershocks struck Davao Occidental, while an earthquake shook Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday, July 14, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In an earthquake advisory, Phivolcs said a magnitude 5.3 aftershock, followed by a magnitude 4.5 tremor, jolted Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
The magnitude 5.3 quake, which had a depth of 10 kilometers, registered Instrumental Intensity I in the following areas:

Intensity I – General Santos City, Malungon, Sarangani, Tupi, and South Cotabato.

Phivolcs said the tremors were aftershocks of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck the Mindanao region last June.

Meanwhile, a magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck Occidental Mindoro. It had a depth of 74 kilometers.
Phivolcs said the quake’s epicenter was located 12 kilometers northwest of Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro.
