Vilamoura International School celebrates strong IB debut

The Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura (CIV) has achieved results above the global average in its first year offering the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), marking a significant milestone for the Algarve school.

The first cohort of CIV students to complete the internationally recognised two-year diploma achieved an average score of 33.5 points, comfortably exceeding the worldwide average of 30.9 points.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is one of the world’s most respected secondary education qualifications, designed to prepare students for entry to leading universities in Portugal and abroad.

Rui Morais, Head of Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura, said the results reflected the dedication of both students and staff.

“I am immensely proud of the excellent results achieved by our students in the IB Diploma Programme. This success reflects their dedication, resilience and ambition, as well as the commitment, excellence and professionalism of our teaching and support teams,” he said.
