Sasha and her puppies are now safe in the care of the Malta SPCA, but the organisation says their rescue is another reminder of the importance of responsible neutering.
Announcing the rescue, the MSPCA described Sasha’s litter as “another accidental litter” and stressed that while rescues save lives, they do not address the root cause of the problem.
“Unless we tackle the root cause through responsible neutering, the cycle will continue and will forever be a strain on shelter resources,” the organisation said.
While Sasha and her puppies received help in time, the MSPCA is appealing for donations to support their food, veterinary care and ongoing upkeep as they begin their journey towards finding permanent homes.
Those wishing to support Sasha and her puppies can donate through the MSPCA’s recurring donations page: https://maltaspca.org/recurring-donation/
