One dead after two-vehicle crash on SH2 in Waikato

One person has died following a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 2, Mangatāwhiri on Wednesday night.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.10pm.

When they arrived, one person was already dead.

State Highway 2 is currently closed between the intersection with State Highway 1 and Koheroa Road.

Koheroa Road is also closed between SH1 and SH2, and diversions are in place.

The Serious Crash Unit has conducted a scene examination, and enquiries into the crash are continuing.
