
OLONGAPO CITY — The Columban College here on Thursday said it has launched an investigation into an alleged bullying incident involving students.
In an official statement, the school said the investigation began on the same day the incident occurred but did not reveal when it happened.

The school’s statement came after a video of the incident circulated on social media. The footage appears to show a male student being physically assaulted by another student inside a classroom.

During the altercation, one of the students is seen striking the victim with a chair, which appears to have struck his head.
According to the college, the victim was immediately brought to the school clinic for medical assistance. The student’s parent was also offered free psychological intervention services.
School officials said the alleged perpetrators and their parents were summoned for initial discussions with the class adviser, strand coordinator, assistant school principal, and school principal.
“The matter is currently undergoing the appropriate legal and institutional processes,” the school said, adding that it would ensure “proper attribution and accountability.”

Columban College said the viral video would form part of the evidence being considered in the ongoing investigation being conducted by the Office of the School Principal, under the supervision of the college administration and in coordination with the appropriate authorities.
The school appealed for the public’s understanding and patience while due process is being observed.

It also assured parents, students, and the community that it remains committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and respectful learning environment.
“The College maintains a strict policy against bullying and does not tolerate any form of violence, harassment, or intimidation,” the statement read.
