The Christian Rural and Urban Development Association of Nigeria (CRUDAN) has charged the federal government to do all that is necessary to ensure that the electoral processes leading up to the general elections in 2027 provide equal political space and opportunities for all candidates.
This call was contained in a communique at the 35th CRUDAN annual general meeting in Gombe State, but issued on Wednesday at the association’s headquarters in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Signed by the Board Chairperson of CRUDAN, Bishop Dr. Peter Bartimawus, the communique stated that the government should also endeavour to address the current socio economic challenges affecting livelihoods, security, and national cohesion.
It said, “Civic engagement and citizen participation in governance remain limited but are critical for improving accountability and development outcomes. Women and vulnerable groups still face barriers to full inclusion in national development processes.”
