The All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Bauchi State, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar,has picked the immediate past Commissioner for Special Duties and Rural Development in the state, Farouk Mustapha as his running mate ahead 2027 elections.
State Organizing Secretary of APC, Sallah Kafi, told our correspondent that MA Abubakar and the leadership of the party has submitted the name and particulars of Mustapha as the running mate.
“I just came from Abuja after the submission and the name of Farouk Mustapha is submitted to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as deputy governorship candidate of APC in Bauchi State,” Kafi said.
Mustapha resigned alongside other commissioners after Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed directed all political appointees seeking elective offices to quit on or before 24 April 2027. He also resigned his membership from the Allied Progressive Movement (APM).
