
MANILA, Philippines — Partial lane closure will be temporarily implemented in a portion of the southbound of E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue in Quezon City as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will conduct road repairs, the agency said on Thursday.
According to the DPWH, it will begin the emergency repair works for the road and drainage system on Thursday at 10 p.m. along the southbound portion of E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue until Monday, July 20 at 5 a.m.

“There will be a temporary partial lane closure in the left lane (15 meters) in the said area. The other lane will remain open to motorists to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow,” the DPWH said in Filipino in an advisory.

With this, the agency advised motorists to use alternate routes and strictly follow traffic signs to ensure safe travels.

It also noted that among the repair works are excavation of collapsed part of the road, repair of damaged drainage structure, and restoration of affected pavement in the area.
“These activities aim to restore the structural integrity of the road and drainage system to ensure the safety of everyone,” it added.
Meanwhile, the DPWH earlier announced that it would begin the second phase of rehabilitation of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue on July 3, 2026. Repair works in intermittent road sections will be carried out until July 23, 2026. /jpv
