
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Cooperatives will soon convene the management and supervisory boards of the Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDKMP) from various regions to identify its operational issues as a basis for improving the programme implementation.
"We will soon hold a meeting and gathering with the supervisory and management boards to obtain their input, so that preparations for the launch of KDKMP can be further refined," Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono said during the Indonesian Village Organisations Forum in Jakarta on Thursday.
On a statement received here, Juliantono explained the forum is necessary to enable the government to obtain direct input from KDKMP management and supervisory boards, so that the solutions prepared can be tailored to conditions in each region.

He also expressed readiness to inventory the various issues faced by villages in preparing KDKMP with related peer associations across Indonesia.
"This event is being held to bring the management, supervisory boards, and all stakeholders to seek the best solutions," Juliantono remarked.
He emphasised the government is committed to find common ground on the various issues that have emerged through dialogue and discussions with stakeholders.
In addition to finalising the KDKMP, he noted the government is also preparing a new regulation as the legal foundation for cooperatives, including KDKMP.

The new Cooperatives Law will regulate various aspects, including a deposit insurance institution that will protect cooperative members' funds.
On the same occasion, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan said the government continues to strengthen the role of KDKMP as a driver of the village economy.
In line with President Prabowo Subianto's instruction, KDKMP will serve as the main infrastructure for distributing various subsidized goods to the public.
"KDKMP will ensure that outlets are promptly stocked with subsidized goods for the public," Hasan said.
