“They were allegedly caught unloading petroleum products from fuel tanker trucks into unauthorized storage containers,” police said.
“Verification of the delivery documents and waybills established that the petroleum products were intended for a different designated consignee and delivery location, indicating their alleged illegal diversion,” it added.
Authorities confiscated 68,000 liters of diesel, 20,000 liters of unleaded gasoline, 8,800 liters of ethanol, and 7,600 liters of premium gasoline, as well as four fuel tanker trucks and an electric pump.
The arrested individuals were taken into police custody and are awaiting charges for violating Batas Pambansa Blg. 33, as amended by Presidential Decree No. 1865, which pertains to the unauthorized trading of petroleum products. /mcm
