A total of 258 fake Blue Disability Badges have been collected in Malta between 2023 and 15th July 2026, according to information tabled in parliament.
The figures show a significant decline in the number of fraudulent badges being confiscated over the past few years.
In 2023, authorities collected 123 fake badges, with the number dropping to 53 in 2024. A further 73 fake badges were seized in 2025.
So far this year, only nine fake Blue Disability Badges have been collected, marking a sharp decrease compared to previous years.
The figures were published in response to a parliamentary question, offering an insight into ongoing efforts to tackle the misuse of disability parking permits across Malta.
Using a fake Blue Disability Badge is illegal and deprives people with disabilities of accessible parking spaces intended for those who genuinely need them.
