P7.4-M 'shabu' seized, 203 arrested in Cagayan Valley operations

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Police in Cagayan Valley seized more than P7.4 million worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) and arrested 203 individuals during simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operations conducted from July 9 to 15, regional police reported.

Brig. Gen. Mariano Rodriguez, director of the Police Regional Office 2, said Friday that authorities carried out 23 anti-drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 31 suspected drug personalities.

Confiscated during the operations were 1,092.59 grams of suspected shabu valued at P7.42 million and 15 grams of marijuana worth P1,800, with a combined standard drug price of P7.421 million.

In the campaign against wanted persons, police arrested 89 fugitives, including four most wanted individuals and 85 other wanted persons, in separate operations across the region.

Authorities also arrested 60 individuals in eight anti-illegal gambling operations.

Under the implementation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, police arrested two individuals and seized three firearms.

Meanwhile, 22 firearms and 14 explosives were voluntarily surrendered as part of the campaign against loose firearms and explosives.

In anti-illegal logging operations, police arrested seven suspects and confiscated 3,279 board feet of illegally cut timber valued at P240,015. /das
