
A man in Hanoi has been put under investigation with violating road traffic regulations for causing a chain collision that killed a woman while driving under the influence of alcohol.
At around 6:50 p.m. on March 6, Nguyen Van Sau, 66, was driving along Nguyen Chanh Street in Hanoi's Yen Hoa Ward when his Toyota Yaris collided with seven other cars and three motorcycles in a chain-reaction crash.

Footage of the accident showed his vehicle was traveling at high speed before suddenly plowing into several motorcyclists moving in the same direction.
After the initial impact, the car continued forward and struck multiple other vehicles.
The crash killed one woman and seriously injured two others.
A breathalyzer test administered to Sau after the accident showed an alcohol concentration of 0.264 milligrams per liter of breath.
The police officially opened criminal procedures against Sau on Saturday, with prosecutors' approval.
