
MANILA, Philippines — Tsunami waves were recorded in six areas in the country after the Magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck off Sarangani province on Monday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). Phivolcs said the tsunami waves were recorded in these areas: Phivolcs said the height of tsunami waves varies, the highest being 1.4 meters above the normal tides.
