Italy's latest round of local election
runoffs, in which the centre left drew 3-3 with the centre right
in the six provincial capitals still up for grabs, confirms the
strength of the centre right, right-wing Premier Giorgia Meloni
said after the results came in Monday.
"Congratulations and best wishes for success to all the mayors
elected in the runoff elections, from all political parties,"
Meloni said on social media.
"The results once again confirm the centre right's strength, the
solidity of the coalition, and its roots in the local
communities," added the leader of the right-wing Brothers of
Italy (FdI) party.
"Let's move forward, with seriousness and concreteness."
