Why Jelly Roll’s Wife Bunnie Xo Says “Looks Are Not Everything” in Relationships
Bunnie Xo is feeling unapologetic amid her breakup with Jelly Roll.
The Dumb Blonde podcaster shared several social media posts that seemingly alluded to her feelings in the aftermath of Jelly (real name Jason DeFord) filing for divorce to end their marriage of nearly 10 years.
In a June 15 TikTok video, Bunnie (real name Alisa DeFord) lip-synced to Nickelback's smash single "How You Remind Me."
"It's not like you to say 'Sorry' / I was waiting on a different story," she mouthed along to the song. "This time, I'm mistaken / For handing you a heart worth breaking."
On her Instagram Stories, the 46-year-old shared a photo of herself from a boudoir photo shoot, which showed her topless holding a pink lace bra in front of her chest. Bunnie cryptically captioned the post, which she set to "Help I'm Alive" by Metric, "She's getting her sparkle back."
Jelly, 41, filed for divorce at a Williamson County court in Tennessee on May 18, according to records viewed by E! News. E! has reached out to Jelly and Bunnie's reps for comment but hasn't heard back.
The filing came three months after Bunnie released her memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, in which she detailed her relationship with the country music star.
“J wasn’t the man he is today back in 2015,” she wrote, “when we met, and a year later, he was still bouncing couch to couch and living in his brown van, Bertha.”
Despite the van being littered with "condoms, crumbs and trash," Bunnie fell for Jelly. As she put it, "But dirty van and all, our connection felt spiritual."

“J wasn’t my type—I love tough guys, or goth, emo boys in eyeliner,” she continued. “I wasn’t his type either. So why the hell was my soul telling me there he is the minute we met? I couldn’t explain it. And I didn’t know how he thought about me at all. I had a hunch, but I wasn’t sure."
The couple tied the knot at Las Vegas' Stained Glass Wedding Chapel in August 2016 amid Jelly's custody battle for his daughter Bailee, now 18, and the birth of his son Noah, 9. They briefly split in 2018, with the "Save Me" singer later admitting that he had cheated.
“I did a lot of work to repair that relationship,” Jelly confessed in a 2025 episode of the Human School Podcast. “The repair has been special. And we’re stronger than we could have ever been.”
