No formal ICC warrant notice received for Bong Go, 2 others — DILG

MANILA, Philippines — Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Wednesday that he has yet to receive any formal notice regarding a reported International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant for the arrest of Sen. Bong Go and two police officers.

Earlier, citing a “highly reliable source,” Davao City Rep. Pulong Duterte claimed that ICC warrants against Go and the two others had already been issued.

Asked to confirm Rep. Duterte’s claims, Remulla told the Inquirer in a text message, “Just talked to SoJ (Secretary of Justice Fredderick Vida), neither of us have received any formal notice.”

Go is among several individuals identified by the ICC as co-perpetrators in the crimes against humanity charges against former President Rodrigo Duterte, the Davao City representative’s father who is currently detained at the Hague, Netherlands.

Although Rep. Duterte did not name the two police officers supposedly ordered arrested by the ICC, former PNP chiefs Oscar Albayalde and Vicente Danao are also among former President Duterte’s alleged co-perpetrators.

Meanwhile, last May, the ICC confirmed that it ordered the arrest of former PNP chief and now-Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, who returned to hiding after a six-month-long absence amid speculation of his arrest.

Malacañang previously said it would immediately enforce future ICC warrants of arrest. /mr
